- Procure booking note from Arab Bridge Company or its agents specifying the date of travel.
- Go to Rashidiya 48 hours before the date of travel to area I according to statements issued and approved by Logistics Services Company (Nafez).
- Deliver the booking notice to our office at area I to issue the driver and truck ticket.
- Go to the passenger terminal (port of travel) under the approved statements to go from area I to the terminal.
- If the shipments were loaded, the driver should provide the clearance company with the customs declaration of goods, including documents of the vehicle, the customs declaration, shipment invoices, and certificates of origin of the goods. The clearing company will make a clearing transaction for the exit of goods from the border and make a shipping order for Arab Bridge Maritime Company accompanied by a copy of documents for truck and goods booking and print the waybill. When the truck is onboard, the bill of lading is stamped on offshore basis to complete and close the clearing transaction.
- For trucks departing from Aqaba to Nuweiba, each driver must sign a contract with the Egyptian customs at the port of Nuweiba stating the party from which loading is made in Egypt. If the driver returned with the truck loaded from a party not stated in the contract, he shall pay a fine of 500 pounds to Customs called (breach contract fine), with the exception of refrigerators carrying foodstuffs only. These refrigerators are exempted from the contract fine as any driver of refrigerated trucks is entitled to load foodstuffs of any party wishes to be not bound by the contract.
- Trucks and refrigerated trucks from all nationalities will be given a 14-day period for the purposes of loading on the Egyptian territories. In the case of violation for unjustified reason, a fine of 1200 pounds shall be imposed as demurrage of Customs for each day more than 14 and up to two weeks and the fine is doubled according to the period of delay.
- All foreign trucks are allowed to load from Jordan for a fine of 100 JD except for Egyptian trucks (exempted from the above fine).
- Non-Jordanian trucks and refrigerated trucks shall be given a period of one week only in Jordan, and if the period exceeded then a fine of five JD per day shall be imposed.
- Taxes paid by passengers when departing from the port of Aqaba to port of Nuweiba are determined by 10 JD.
- For passengers departing from the port of Nuweiba to the port of Aqaba, Egyptian taxes are collected on tickets of Arab Bridge for all nationalities except departure tax and development service of Nuweiba port fee.
- Jordanian and non-Jordanian trucks and refrigerated trucks departing from the port of Nuweiba to the port of Aqaba and loaded to outside Jordan in transit shall be given 48 hours to leave the Jordanian border; otherwise, a fine of five JD for each day of delay shall be paid (to Customs).
- The Ports Corporation shall collect guard fees of 10 JD for each truck or refrigerated truck of all nationalities remaining at the port for more than 48 hours from the day of arrival.
- Clearance fees for loaded trucks and refrigerated trucks, whether departing from Aqaba and Nuweiba and vice versa, shall be borne by the owner of the goods.
- The passenger must contact the company or the office issuing the ticket, and the prescribed cancellation fines listed on the back of the ticket shall apply.
- The ticket issuer must refund the remaining amount to the passenger after deducting the cancellation fine with a maximum of one week from the date of cancellation.
- Make sure of the invoices, customs declaration and certificates of the goods you hold to avoid inaccuracy fines and to make sure of actual compliance with the contents of documents
- You must supervise the loading to avoid damage in the goods, lack of preparation or smuggling inside the truck without your knowledge.
- Examine the truck technically before departure to avoid road risks that you may be exposed to (difficult slopes and cracked roads) and inform your colleagues with anything that you may face while driving.
- Do not try to enter or exit the ferry without the supervision of the competent docker concerned with uploading and unloading.
- Check the certificates you hold, such as insurance certificate and Trip ticket in order not to be surprised by the expiry of validity date while you are not in your country, for example.
- Insurance in your country costs 120 JD for a full year for all countries, while in Egypt costs 95 JD for a single trip.
- Beware that the Trip ticket you hold is not expired while you are in Egypt because this will cost you a third of the price of your truck, otherwise the truck will be confined until payment.
- Comply with traffic laws in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The entry of Badr Square in Cairo costs you 100 pounds, but if you are outside the Square, you will be fined with 1000 pounds.
- When you return to Jordan, you are allowed to fill the fuel tank with 1000 liters, and any additional amount will be destroyed and you will be fined with 110 JD.
- Rashidiya areas are located 34 km from the city of Aqaba; they receive all trucks coming from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. These areas are under management of Nafez for Logistics, which in turn accommodates trucks and coordinates with the ports and Arab Bridge Maritime Company depending on the availability of ships and cargoes to supply areas intended for trucks in Aqaba.
- Area I can accommodate 950 trucks; 120 trucks from which are for Arab Bridge. Trucks are unloaded from Rashidiya to this area to make the necessary bookings on ships of Arab Bridge Maritime Company and organize the bill of lading data.
- Passenger terminal area can accommodate 75 departing trucks and 70 arriving trucks. Departing trucks are weighted and inspected on luggage screening device, clearing procedures are made on departing cargo in trucks, and boarding of trucks is organized to ships. For the arriving trucks, the area can accommodate 70 trucks, where the customs completes the procedures of trucks in transit within half an hour of entering the area, while trucks arriving to Amman or Aqaba are delayed to the second day after the inspection procedures of the contents by customs.
"Trucks coming from the Arab Republic of Egypt and transiting through Jordanian territory are allowed to proceed, accompanied by their drivers, to their final destination, while observing all preventive and precautionary measures in accordance with these instructions. In the event that the final destination of the truck is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or any other Gulf Cooperation Council country, passing through Saudi Arabian territory, the truck driver must possess a valid residency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or an entry visa that is valid for entry into Saudi Arabian territory. If the truck driver does not possess a valid entry visa to Saudi Arabian territory, they are not allowed to travel from Nuweiba, and the 'Back to Back' transport system will be adopted within the passenger terminal at the Aqaba Port.
All truck drivers arriving from Nuweiba must obtain a medical examination certificate (PCR) from a medical laboratory accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Health. The certificate must be issued no more than (5) days from the arrival date at the passenger terminal of Aqaba Port, and it should be in the possession of the driver. Upon arrival at the passenger terminal of Aqaba Port, all truck drivers will undergo a PCR test to ensure they are not infected with the coronavirus.
If the test result is negative (no infection), non-Jordanian transit truck drivers are permitted to disembark from the ship and enter Jordanian territory to proceed to their final destination. They are required to leave Jordanian territory as soon as possible. When the trucks return, the passenger terminal yard owned by the Arab Bridge Maritime Company is used as a gathering point for preparing the trucks before leaving Jordanian territory.
If the test result is positive (indicating a coronavirus infection) for non-Jordanian transit truck drivers, they are to be treated according to the protocol of the Jordanian Ministry of Health. They are not allowed to enter Jordanian territory, with the option of unloading their cargo onto another truck using the 'Back to Back' transport system within the passenger terminal of Aqaba Port.
Jordanian trucks are allowed to travel to Egyptian territory, accompanied by their drivers, and proceed to their final destination according to the Egyptian health protocol. Upon the return of the Jordanian truck driver, they are to be treated according to the protocols of the Jordanian Ministry of Health that are applicable at land crossings, based on the country matrix (red, yellow, green), starting from the date of approval by the Egyptian side."
