Description

First: Procedures Inside the Port of Aqaba

  1. Obtaining the customs transit book (TRIPTIK) from approved car clubs, excluding cars with Egyptian plates.
  2. Ensuring the validity of the fire extinguisher and the presence of a first aid kit.
  3. Issuing a shipping permit for the car from the offices of the A B Maritime Company or one of our authorized agents.
  4. Stamping the customs transit book (TRIPTIK) from customs and paying the departure tax for the car, noting that transit cars (passing through Jordanian territory for 48 hours) are exempt from the departure tax.
  5. Obtaining a security clearance from the General Security at the passenger station to ensure the settlement of any traffic violations, if any.
  6. Driver must carry a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, or a letter of authorization from the owner to drive and use the car. (Note that Egyptian authorities allow four-wheel-drive vehicles to enter with the vehicle owner only) and an entry visa for the Arab Republic of Egypt / residence for nationalities that require this.
  7. Driver and the accompanying passengers must follow the approved travel procedures.

Second: Procedures upon Arrival at the Port of NUWEIBA:

  1. Upon arrival of the ferry, the maritime agency employee delivers the delivery permit to the car owner.
  2. Heading to the designated car assembly area, where security and customs inspections are carried out by the relevant authorities.
  3. Going to the Divan/passport windows and TRIPTIK, and lifting the fingerprint of the car (chassis number) by the traffic management at NUWEIBA Port. Three files (gate + customs + traffic) are organized at the copying office inside the customs to be handed over to the relevant authorities, and fees are paid to the traffic management. After that, Egyptian licenses and plates are obtained.
  4. Registering at the window (MTS) belonging to the customs administration and complete the customs procedures, paying the fees to the customs administration, and issuing the customs release.
  5. Four-wheel-drive vehicles must obtain a Sinai transit permit from the Military Intelligence office.

First: Procedures Inside the Port of NUWEIBA

  2. Heading to our general agent, the Canal Maritime Agencies, to complete the reservation process for the car and driver and ensure the presence of travel documents (valid passport, driver's license, and vehicle registration, TRIPTIK) ...
  3. Car driver issues a certificate of clearance for traffic violations at NUWEIBA Primary Courts complex.
  4. Cars enter the port gate according to the specified capacity of ships and trip schedules.
  5. Car data is entered into the electronic system belonging to the port administration at the port entrance gate. 
  6. After the security inspection by the Explosives and Fire Department and obtaining the Inspection Safety Document, the customs administration employee verifies the car documents and registers them on the system in due form.
  7.  Turning to the electronic system office belonging to the port administration, paying the applicable fees, and proceeding to the departure lounge to complete the travel procedures.
  8.  For cars coming from Aqaba, upon departure to Aqaba, the car's fingerprint is lifted by the traffic management. Then, Egyptian plates and licenses are retrieved, and the driver receives a document confirming the completion of procedures and permission to travel from the traffic management.

Second: Procedures upon Arrival at the Port of Aqaba

  1. Inspecting the car using an X-Ray device and obtain the inspection card.
  2. Heading to the mandatory insurance office to obtain insurance for driving the car in Jordan for the required duration, with a minimum of one month.
  3. Going to the customs administration at the passenger station, paying the fees to obtain the Jordanian entry license.

Description

First: Procedures Inside the Port of Aqaba

  1. Organizing a customs declaration through one of the Jordanian clearing companies, and stamping the customs declaration documents for the car by the customs administration.
  2. Obtaining the identification number for the Egyptian side (the Egyptian electronic window) before departure by 24 hours.

What is the Customs Transit Book (TRIPTIK)
Description

It is an international customs document for the car passage (passport) issued by the World Tourism Organization and the International Automobile Federation through international car clubs and their agents. This document serves as a temporary customs exemption upon entering a country and is valid for one year from the issuance date. It allows the release of the car at NUWEIBA Port for a period of three months, renewable for an equal period. The owner can extend the stay for up to six months once, and it is the owner's responsibility to take the car out of the country for a similar period equal to its stay inside before being allowed to be brought it in again.

Documents Required for Obtaining the Customs Transit Book (TRIPTIK):

  1. Copy of the passport for the car owner and authorized drivers.
  2. Copy of the driver's license for the car owner and authorized drivers.
  3. Copy of the car license.
  4. Copy of the authorization in case the driver has a power of attorney from the owner, and not the original owner.

Conditions for Obtaining the Customs Transit Book:

  1. The Customs Transit Book is issued in the nationality country of the car, e.g., Saudi cars get the book in Saudi Arabia.
  2. Availability of a Jordanian sponsor owning unencumbered property.
  3. Signing a guarantee for the car's return from the Arab Republic of Egypt.
  4. In case of no sponsor, a refundable amount of 1,500 Jordanian Dinars is paid upon the car's return, and the book is returned to the issuing authority.
  5. Customs Transit Book must be returned upon expiration, or use of its pages, for the refund of the guarantee or the paid amount.

Booking Procedures for Loaded and Empty Trucks Departing from Aqaba
Description

First: Diversion of Trucks 

  1. Head to the waiting areas in AL-RASHIDIA region and book a turn through the approved diversion offices for NAFITH Logistics Services Company. Noting that AL- RASHIDIA area's yards are located 34 km away from the city of Aqaba, receiving all trucks from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. These yards are managed by NAFITH Logistics Services Company, which accommodates the trucks and coordinates with the Arab Bridge Company for Navigation to divert them to yard (1) according to the capacity.
  2. Drivers of trucks coming from AL-DURRA border crossing, and loaded trucks within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone should head to yard (1) to receive their turn and obtain a permit from NAFITH Company.
  3. Declaration of the type of cargo, whether hazardous or not, takes place in AL-RASHIDIA yard. Trucks carrying hazardous materials are diverted from AL-RASHIDIA yard to other yards on specific days of the week. The driver of a hazardous materials truck is fined for each day spent in the AL-HUJJAJ yard if present there before the scheduled time due to failure to disclose the cargo.
  4. NAFITH Company shall divert the required number of trucks from AL- RASHIDIA yard to yard (1), where they are included in the queue and granted a permit of NAFITH.
  5. NAFITH shall divert the required number of trucks to AL-HUJAJ yard affiliated with the Arab Bridge Company, depending on the available capacity at the time. No truck is allowed into the AL-HUJAJ yard without presenting NAFITH permit.
  6. Reservation for the truck and driver and the issuance of the cargo permit are done through the Arab Bridge Operations Office in AL-HUJAJ yard. Drivers of loaded trucks provide a copy of cargo data (customs declaration, certificate of origin, invoice, packing lists) during the reservation.
  7. Arab Bridge Operations Office shall send lists to NAFITH Company to divert the required number of trucks to the loading station according to the cargo flight schedule and ship capacity. The serial number of the cargo permit is used to organize the diversion lists to the loading station.
  8. If, during the loading on ships, it is found that a specific truck is not present, its turn is canceled, and the next truck in line follows, with will be rediverted in the subsequent list.

Second: Truck Instructions Inside the Loading Station and Required Documents

  1. Upon entering the loading station, the truck goes to the weighbridge to obtain the weighbridge card and then proceeds to the departure waiting area in the station.
  2. Trucks are security-checked by the General Security Department at the station to ensure no violations or claim are outstanding.
  3. In some cases, customs data for trucks loaded from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone are organized within the passenger station.
  4. Truck driver goes to the customs administration at the station to obtain an exit permit for the truck, presenting the required documents:
  • Empty Trucks:
  • Truck license, driver's license, and temporary entry license for non-Jordanian trucks (blue card).
  • Loaded Trucks:
  • Truck license, driver's license, and temporary entry license for non-Jordanian trucks (blue card).
  • Customs declaration.
  • Certificate of origin.
  • Invoice.
  • Packing list.
  • Weighbridge card 
  1. The customs department at the station issues the truck's exit permit after ensuring the proper procedures and the absence of any violations.
  2. Driver proceeds to the departure lounge to complete the travel procedures.
  3. Driver goes to the station's inquiries to confirm readiness and verify his turn to board the ship. The weighbridge card is also presented to check the entry time into the station for the purpose of calculating the demurrage. A fine of 10 Jordanian dinars is levied for each day of delay after 48 hours of presence in the loading station.
  4. When loading the departing ship begins, the names of drivers with their turn are announced through the station's inquiry broadcast. The driver is then handed a copy of the shipping permit and proceeds to the X-ray device for exit permit issuance.
  5. Truck then heads to board the ship for departure.
  6. After completing the ship's loading, truck manifests and goods are prepared, and shipping documents are issued and an electronic copy with the attachments (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) are sent to the company's agent in NUWEIBA.

Third: Procedures for Trucks Inside the Port of NUWEIBA

  1. Heading to the electronic system office affiliated with the management of the Port of NUWEIBA to register the truck and cargo data, then proceed to the import inspection area.
  2. Heading to the X-ray device and then weighing the cargo.
  3. For the goods loaded on trucks, their procedures are completed within the port through authorized clearance companies.
  4. Heading to the initial inspection area, and then a committee is formed by the customs administration to unpack the cargo for inspection, examination, and subsequent security inspection by the relevant security authorities.
  5. Inspection authorities (explosives and food safety) review the cargo type, and these entities determine the final departure schedule from the port.
  6. Customs administration ensures the presence of documents (TRIPTIK, delivery permit, passport copy, road and bridge permits, agency authorization (if any) and obtains copies of these documents.
  7. General Investigations Administration verifies the presence of documents (passport copy, entry stamp, extinguisher sheet, and investigations sheet) and obtains copies of these documents.
  8. Traffic management confirms the presence of documents (delivery permit, copies of TRIPTIK, licenses, fingerprint, and TRIPTIK notification) and takes a copy of these documents. The driver is then provided with Egyptian plates and licenses if the truck was foreign.
  9. Subsequently, the release permit is printed through the clearance company in coordination with customs to allow the truck to exit after paying the fees for the electronic system of NUWEIBA Port Management.

Booking Procedures for Loaded and Empty Trucks Departing from NUWEIBA

First: Procedures in NUWEIBA

  1. Heading to the external truck waiting area belonging to NUWEIBA City Council to organize the entry process based on the reservation sequence.
  2. Heading to our general agent, the Canal Maritime Agencies, to complete the truck and driver reservation process, ensuring the presence of travel documents (valid passport, certificate of origin, original invoice, customs clearance, truck license, and driver's license).
  3. Truck driver develops a traffic violation clearance certificate at NUWEIBA Primary Courts Complex.
  4. Trucks enter the port gate according to the specified ship capacity and schedules.
  5. Truck data is entered into the electronic system affiliated with the port management at the truck entry gate.
  6. Upon reaching the export yard, the motor and chassis are fingerprinted by NUWEIBA Traffic Administration, followed by a security inspection by an ad hoc committee. 
  7. Customs Export Committee signs off on the documents with the driver for inspection using the X-ray device dedicated to truck inspection. Weighing is done to issue the weighbridge card by NUWEIBA Port Management.
  8. File of documents is photographed by NUWEIBA Port Traffic Administration, including (shipping permit, licenses, passport copy, truck authorization images, Form 126 for Egyptian trucks, traffic violation clearance, and TRIPTIK notification to complete the procedures). After verification by the Traffic Administration, a "Procedure Completion Document" is issued.
  9. Truck driver turns to the electronic system office affiliated with NUWEIBA Port Management to pay the fees set by the port management. They also check with the customs management office on the dock to ensure the customs clearance. Afterward, they proceed to the security kiosk to hand over the "Procedure Completion Document."
  10. Truck driver completes their travel procedures in due form.

Second: Procedures in Aqaba

  1. Upon the arrival of the ship at Aqaba Port, trucks are inspected by the customs administration.
  2. Truck undergoes inspection using the X-Ray radiation detection device and the inspection card is stamped. Then, it proceeds to the weighbridge for weighing.
  3. Subsequently, the truck aligns in the arrival yard for departure to complete the procedures.

A. Empty Trucks (Transit or Local):

  1. Upon the arrival of the ship at Aqaba Port, trucks are inspected by the customs administration.
  2. Truck undergoes inspection using the X-Ray radiation detection device, and the inspection card is stamped. Then, it heads to the weighbridge for weighing.
  3. Empty truck driver goes to the customs administration and presents the following documents (insurance policy, passport, truck license, and inspection card) to pay the entry license fees according to the truck's nationality. The entry license is received, and the inspection card is stamped with "No Objection."
  4. Obtaining the exit permit from the shipping office affiliated with Aqaba Ports Management and Operation.
  5. At the exit gate, the inspection card and port card are handed over.
  6. Passport verification is done by the General Security representative at the exit gate, allowing the truck to leave.

B. Loaded Trucks (for the local market):

  1. Upon the arrival of the ship at Aqaba Port, trucks are inspected by the customs administration.
  2. Truck undergoes inspection using the X-Ray radiation detection device, and the inspection card is stamped. Then, it heads to the weighbridge for weighing.
  3. Arab Bridge Company records the data of loaded trucks in advance, before the ship departs from NUWEIBA, on the customs system (Global ASYCUDA).
  4. Approved clearing companies at Aqaba Port organize the customs data in advance before the ship's arrival in Aqaba.
  5. Loaded truck driver checks with the authorized clearing company chosen by the importer to determine whether the truck will be inspected or allowed to pass without inspection.
  6. In case a cargo inspection is required, a committee is formed by the relevant authorities to examine the truck and cargo, taking samples of food items as needed.
  7. In the event of food sample collection, the truck is not released until successful results for the goods are obtained. If the goods are rejected, they are re-exported to the country of origin.
  8. Customs declaration is handed over to the driver to complete the exit procedures.
  9. Driver goes to the customs office and submits the necessary documents (customs declaration, insurance policy, passport, truck license, and inspection card), pays the entry license fees according to the truck's nationality, receives the entry license, and stamps the inspection card with "No Objection."
  10. Obtaining the exit permit card from the shipping office affiliated with Aqaba Ports Management and Operation for Port Operation and Management.
  11. At the exit gate, the inspection card and port card are handed over.
  12. Passport verification is done by the General Security representative at the exit gate, allowing the truck to leave.

C. Loaded Trucks (Transit):

  1. Upon the arrival of the ship at Aqaba Port, trucks are inspected by the customs administration.
  2. Truck undergoes inspection using the X-Ray radiation detection device, and the inspection card is stamped. Then, it heads to the weighbridge for weighing.
  3. Arab Bridge Company records the data of loaded trucks in advance, before the ship leaves NUWEIBA Port, in the customs system (Global ASYCUDA).
  4. Approved clearing companies at Aqaba Port organize the customs data in advance before the ship's arrival in Aqaba.
  5. Loaded truck driver checks with the authorized clearing company chosen by the importer to determine whether the truck will be inspected or allowed to pass without inspection.
  6. In case a cargo inspection is required, a committee is formed by the relevant authorities to examine the truck.
  7. An electronic tracking device is installed on the customs seal (lead) of the truck.
  8. Customs declaration is handed over to the driver to complete the exit procedures.
  9. Driver goes to the customs office and submits the necessary documents (customs declaration, insurance policy, passport, truck license, and inspection card), pays the entry license fees according to the truck's nationality, receives the entry license, and stamps the inspection card with "No Objection."
  10. Obtaining the exit permit card from the shipping office affiliated with Aqaba Ports Management and Operation.
  11. At the exit gate, the inspection card and port card are handed over.
  12. Passport verification is done by the General Security representative at the exit gate, allowing the truck to leave.

General Instructions for Truck Drivers Departing to and Arriving from Aqaba
Description
  1. All loaded trucks heading to the Arab Republic of Egypt must register on the Egyptian Window platform (Cargo X) and obtain an ACID (Advanced Cargo Information Document) at least 24 hours before departure. This does not apply to goods of Jordanian origin heading to Libya.
  2. Non-Egyptian trucks are allowed to stay in Egyptian territories for a maximum of 14 days, and a fine is imposed for periods exceeding this duration.
  3. Jordanian trucks are given a period of (14) days to stay within Egyptian territories. The Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority may allow an additional (4) days, and the stay period can be extended by an additional (14) days after the end of the initial period (14 days) by submitting a request to the Customs Authority to extend the deadline.
  4. Freight transport vehicles are not allowed to transport goods from one state's territory to a third state's territory or vice versa unless a special permit is obtained from the competent authorities in that country. In the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, foreign trucks are allowed to load for a third party with a permit from the Land Transport Regulatory Authority after paying the required fine.
  5. Foreign trucks in the Arab Republic of Egypt are not allowed to engage in domestic transportation, load from a third-party country, unload in Egypt (reverse third party), or change their route. In case of violation, a minimum fine of twenty-five thousand Egyptian pounds is imposed.
  6. Trucks are granted a grace upon entering Aqaba Port, valid for (48) hours for boarding the ship. Exceeding this period incurs fines.
  7. Egyptian and foreign trucks are allowed to stay within the Jordanian territories for a maximum of (7) days only. If this period is exceeded, a fine is imposed for each day of delay.
  8. Egyptian and foreign trucks coming from NUWEIBA Port to Jordan in transit are allowed a passage period of (72) hours. Exceeding this period incurs fines for each day of delay.

General Safety Instructions
Description

Passengers must follow the instructions of the ship's captain and maritime crews who apply the general safety requirements for passengers and maritime units.

  1. Smoking regular and electronic cigarettes is prohibited on maritime units under penalty of responsibility.
  2. Passengers should only be in designated areas and not sit in evacuation areas on maritime units or in the side aisles of the ship.
  3. Tampering with any ship equipment is strictly prohibited under penalty of responsibility.
  4. To preserve the safety of the marine environment, it is strictly forbidden to throw any waste into the sea, regardless of its size or type.
  5. Onboard maritime units, safety and evacuation equipment are provided, along with detailed explanations of safety, rescue procedures, and actions during maritime accidents and exceptional conditions.
  6. Everyone must follow the instructions of the ship's captain and maritime crews and pay attention to sirens, guidance, and evacuation locations on the ship.
  7. On board our naval units, there is a general practitioner to provide basic healthcare. In the event that a traveler requires advanced/specialized medical care or special equipment, it is necessary to inform the captain of the naval unit so that appropriate measures can be taken. If the traveler's condition affects its own safety and/or the safety of other travelers, the captain has the right to take necessary actions, including denying them permission to travel and coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure the appropriate healthcare.
  8. If you suffer from seasickness, it is advisable to take the appropriate medication before traveling.

Description

In accordance with safety requirements and travel regulations, carrying the following items is strictly prohibited:

  1. Explosive materials and firearms such as pistols, rifles, fireworks, flammable and glowing tools, live ammunition, gunpowder, etc.
  2. All types and forms of edged weapons.
  3. Toxic substances, chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers.
  4. Prohibited and illegal substances, such as drugs.
  5. Medications not authorized for use without a valid prescription.
  6. Unauthorized live animals.
  7. Flammable liquids and solids, such as oils, paints, turpentine, acetone.
  8. Pressurized containers, such as gas cylinders, spray cans, etc.
  9. Flammable, non-flammable, and toxic gases.
  10. Large quantities of perfumes.
  11. Corrosive materials such as acids and liquid cell batteries.
  12. Any materials that may compromise the safety of travelers and the ship, prohibited periodically by relevant authorities.
